Numbers

It is essential to know how to count in Bulgarian. In this section you can learn the numbers and the way they are formed. The first video will show you how to count to 10.

Now that we know the main numbers, let’s learn to count to 20:

Note that the numbers after 10 have two variations: двайсет and двадесет. The one in our video is the most used and modern one: двайсет. These variations can be seen also in some of the numbers until 100. For example, шейсет can also be шестдесет.

The next video will teach you to count to 100.

The formation of numbers is done by the following formula:

The way we form higher numbers is similar, as it is shown in the following video:

As you see, in order to read a number of several hundreds you have to use the following formula:

The formation of higher numbers is also similar.

The formula is:
